Luis Basagoiti

Luis Basagoiti is a renowned professional with more than 35 years of experience in positions of responsibility in the real estate field.
With a degree in Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, specialising in Structures, and a PhD in Architecture (Cum Laude) from the same university, Luis Basagoiti also holds an MBA in International Business Management from the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid and another in Construction and Real Estate Management from the Polytechnic University. He is also an “ad honorem” professor at the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Madrid (UPM) and was a researcher in light industrialized prefabrication.
During his extensive professional career, he has held numerous positions of responsibility as CEO and general manager in different companies, including Mapfre Inmuebles (1987-1994 and 2005-2020), Iberdrola Inmobiliaria (1994-2001), Metrovacesa (2001-2003) and Reyal (2003-2005), as well as director and chairman of subsidiaries of these companies.
Currently, Luis Basagoiti is director at MHRE and advisor to the board of Gavari Properties Socimi, position which he will combine with that of executive chairman at MHRE.
Borja Escala Jimenez

Borja Escalada Jiménez is a graduate in Business Administration and Management from Colegio Universitario de Estudios Financieros (CUNEF).
Borja started his career in the Capital Markets area at Arthur Andersen (now Deloitte). In 2007, he founded Vector Cuatro, a firm specialising in the investment and asset management of renewable energy assets worldwide, having led investments worth USD 4 billion and the asset management of more than 1,200 MW. Subsequently, between 2016 and 2023, he held the position of CEO of RLH Properties, a Mexican listed company in the luxury and ultra-luxury hotel sector. He has also held various executive positions with different funds and entities operating in different sectors, with a particular focus on the hotel sector.
He is managing partner of the Sancus Capital fund, which invests mainly in the hotel, real estate, private equity, energy and venture capital sectors in Spain and Mexico. He is also a member of the governing bodies of various entities in these sectors, and is a director of the companies that own and operate the Rosewood Villa Magna and Bless Madrid hotels.
Juan Odériz San Martín

Juan has a Degree in Economic and Business Sciences from ICADE (Universidad Pontificia de Comillas).
He began his professional career as an auditor at Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC), to later hold the positions of Financial Director and Deputy CEO of Viscofan, a company belonging to the IBEX 35 of the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In 2001, he joined Caja Navarra as the CEO of its investment vehicle, with 875 million euros under his management. Later, he held the position of Deputy CEO at Caja Navarra with 18 billion euros in assets. From 2010 to 2012, he held the position of CEO at Banca Cívica, at which time the Bank carried out an IPO on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In 2015, Juan became Assistant President at Hotusa, playing a role in the Group’s Strategy, Finance and Development Committee. Hotusa is one of Spain’s tourism leaders with approximately 200 hotels under management, 75 of which are owned by the group. Hotusa also operates a major booking and distribution platform
Marcus Arildsson
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Marcus holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from James Madison University in Virginia, USA, as well as a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Chicago, USA.
He started his career in 1997 at the London offices of Lehman Brothers, working as an Investment Banking Analyst (Equity Capital Markets). From 2001 to 2006, he held the position of Vice President in Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch, where he ran cross-border operations and provided strategic and financial advice. Subsequently, from 2006 to 2018, he was Director and Head of the Investment Banking Evaluation Committee at the Arcano Partners Madrid office. Then from 2018 to 2022, he held the position of Director and Member of the Executive Committee at Sonae Sierra, with the responsibility of structuring investment management and equity financing of real estate investment vehicles. Until joining MHRE, Marcus was CFO and Member of the Executive Committee at Ladorian's Madrid office.
María Pardo Martínez
Director of Investor Relation, Corporate Communication & Compliance
She holds a Degree in Economic and Business Sciences from CUNEF and a Master's in Tax and Fiscal Law at the Centre for Financial Studies. She began her professional career as a Corporate Finance consultant at Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC). Subsequently, she worked as a Variable Income Financial Analyst at Eurosafei and Bankinter.
From 2007 to 2018 she was the Director of Investor Relations, first at Eurocofin and later at Tinkle. She joined Naturhouse Health SA in 2014 at the time of its IPO in 2015. Combining this last position with that of Director of Investments of Kiluva SA.
María has also been a Collaborating Professor of the International MBA of Universidad San Pablo CEU and he wrote the prologue to the book “Winning the trust of the shareholders”, by the professor of the University of New York, Baruch Lev.
Pedro Maestre Rodríguez- Vizcaíno

Pedro has a degree in Economic and Business Sciences from CUNEF, a Postgraduate Degree in Finance from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MBA with academic distinction from IE Business School.
Before joining Millenium Hospitality Real Estate and, between September 2015 and November 2021, Pedro held the position of Director of Strategic Planning at the NH Hotel Group head offices. During that time he worked on the definition, development and implementation of the Group's 5-year Plan and its strategic initiatives (Brand & Experience, Operations, Digital and Asset Management & Development). He led key complex strategic projects such as the redefinition of NH's operating model, obtaining significant structural savings for the company; the Integration office between NH Hotel Group and Minor International; chain/portfolio integration processes such as Dedica Anthology and Tivoli Hotels within NH; as well as in the evaluation of synergies on M&A projects, also playing a role as an internal consultant in other operating projects.
Since 2011 and, before joining NH in September 2015, Pedro worked for Vodafone as a Senior Analyst for Business Planning and Strategy, specialising in processes budgeting and forecasting costs of customer acquisition and retention. Pedro began his career at KPMG in the Corporate Finance department.
Pedro is also the co-founder and member of the Board of Directors of Miller & Marc, a fast-growing chain of designer opticians born in 2016, which today operates 11 stores in the main capitals of Spain.
José González-Laguillo
Director of Construction and Project Development
José es Ingeniero de Caminos, Canales y Puertos por la UAX. Tiene experiencia tanto nacional, como internacional, en Construcción Público-Privada, Gestión, Producción, Retail, Real Estate y Hospitality.
Due to the financial crisis, he started his career in Santiago, Chile, developing large shopping centres under very tight deadlines and with high investment volumes. A highlight at this stage was the construction of Mall Arauco Quilicura in just 8 months with a budget of €50 million.
Back in Spain, José had the opportunity to lead the establishment and growth of a property developer in Madrid, running developments (more than 500 apartments) from start to finish, from the purchase of the land to the final handover to the owner.
After this experience, now working nationally, he went on to manage operations at another major construction company, heading the development of a portfolio of €198 million at its peak with 23 active construction works for the biggest property developers and investment funds in the country, with more than 120 people reporting to him.
Before joining MHRE, José decided to take the leap to the international scene to lead the technical management of a leading company in the Hospitality sector specialising in repositioning projects, successfully consolidating major refurbishments of well-known hotel assets in the UK, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Spain, with a total of more than 1,500 rooms plus common areas renovated.
